I came across My Dear Hatchet Man as a reference from See Thru: Need A Friend and I gotta say - it was worth the reference.
I'm going to try not to simp to Alan as hard as I did in my playthrough here, but the game had me constantly questioning whether or not there was something much darker beneath the surface.
Imagine my surprise when I instead found an incredibly wholesome story about a similarly awkward woodsman who just wants the best for us.
It's incredibly refreshing to have a game that pays homage to, yet subverts the horror dating simulator conventions. I know the game is still in its early stages but thus far, it seems incredibly promising.
disclaimer: I've yet to try the other routes so perhaps there IS more to the story.
If I had a nickel for every fictional brown-haired hunter and serial killer character living in the woods who nicknamed me 'doe-eyes' and fell in love with me and would probably kidnap me out of obsession - I would have TWO NICKELS.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice - it's so specific.
The full game IS NOT out yet if you havent noticed by the day 1 and day 2 part on the development log the log will show EVERY update to the game and the creator of this game is trying their best so please be pactient with them <3
i know i already posted my responce to this game but i loved it too much i replayed this game over a thousand times and it never got old i felt so loved my alan so much this game was exactly what i needed and i thank you for making it free <3
very wholesome yet mysterious! alan has very cute expressions but i can't help but side eye him a little (especially with the sus things that happen whenever the protagonist falls asleep and the alert we got on our phone!) there were a lot of cute moments and i also really love the side characters! excited to see more of alan's backstory/character with future updates!
I have been wanting to play this for quite some time, and the little demo really got me hooked! Sadly the downloaded game quits and closes right after opening the application! Does anyone know a way to fix that or figure out why it's failing to open? ( ps. the characters are so dang cute and well designed!:) )
hey love, you should download the itch.io app for your pc. I was also having the same problem but now that I'm running it through the app, it's working great now.
Oh thank you!! I sadly tried that a few days ago, and I sadly still have the same problem. I uninstalled it all and also reinstalled it a few times with just the app, and it's just not having any of it! Lol I really appreciate you answering! I'll try again and see.
I don't know how we walked after that one encounter T.T I love these types of games so much; it makes me feel loved. I need more games like this, could anyone recommend? :] I'm also going to play this game over and over again.
